Owen Sound is built around the harbour, an inlet of beautiful Georgian Bay. Originally known as Sydenham, the city sits at the mouths of the Potawatomi and Sydenham Rivers and was a major port city for much of its history.

Today, Owen Sound offers a vibrant downtown core with shopping, nightlife and homestyle to fine dining just a dinghy ride or short walk from the marina. Two of the most challenging golf courses in the region are within a twenty minute drive, including Cobble Beach Golf Links, named one of the “World’s Top 10 Best New Courses” by Travel & Leisure Golf Magazine.

Owen Sound is home to several full-service spas, modern medical facilities including the largest hospital in the region, and churches for all denominations within a short distance from the marina. A new $20 million recreation facility and Harrison Park is open to the public all year-round.

Picturesque Kelso Beach is just steps away, home to children’s parks, sports facilities, a concert amphitheatre and more. A walk downtown takes you to grocery stores, specialty shops, restaurants, the LCBO and The Beer Store. A short drive could take you up the Bruce Peninsula, into the heart of Grey County, or out to Sauble Beach, a seven-mile stretch of sand, surf, and sun along Lake Huron.
