Owen Sound is built around the harbour, an inlet of beautiful Georgian Bay. Originally known as Sydenham, the city sits at the mouths of the Potawatomi and Sydenham Rivers and was a major port city for much of its history.

Today, Owen Sound offers a vibrant downtown core with shopping, nightlife and homestyle to fine dining just a dinghy ride or short walk from the marina. Two of the most challenging golf courses in the region are within a twenty minute drive, including Cobble Beach Golf Links, named one of the “World’s Top 10 Best New Courses” by Travel & Leisure Golf Magazine.

Owen Sound is home to several full-service spas, modern medical facilities including the largest hospital in the region, and churches for all denominations within a short distance from the marina. A new $20 million recreation facility and Harrison Park is open to the public all year-round.

During the winter months the Owen Sound is proud to have the Chi-Cheemaun moored in our inner harbour. It has received a beautiful face lift this past season and is proud to offer trips back and forth between Manitoulin Island and Tobermory during the summer months. If you have never been aboard this beautiful ship take the time this summer and go for a cruise. You can even bring your vehicle.
